As you will be aware from watching the news, there is a weather alert for snow later this week. Hopefully it won’t cause any disruption but just wanted to make you aware of what we will aim to do if there is a severe downfall.
- In the event of heavy snowfall overnight, we will aim to give you as much notice in the morning as possible for any late opening or closure. The message will come via the website so you will receive an email alert. We will also inform Greatest Hits Radio Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales (formerly Stray FM) to communicate a closure.
- In the event of heavy snowfall during the school day, we may need to close school early. Again, this alert will come via the website so you will receive an email.
Taking the decision to close school isn’t taken lightly but it is important to prioritise the safety of our children, families and staff. We appreciate that many of you may not work locally so will aim to decide early enough to give you as much notice as possible. We also have several staff who travel a significant distance to work so I also need to make sure that they can get to work and get home safely. As ever, we are very grateful for your support in the event of these circumstances.
If school has to be closed then the staff will ensure that they upload some online learning activities to the class pages of the website.
