Meet our new Reading Mentors! 
We are very excited to have such an enthusiastic and dedicated group of children to lead reading for pleasure in our school.
The children have lots of ideas for ways in which they can encourage and support reading for pleasure in our school. They are going to begin by introducing a lunchtime book club. The aim of this will be for children to have the opportunity to share books that they enjoy with each other.
The children are also going to be speaking to the rest of the children in the school to discover what types of books they would like us to have in school (that we don't already have), and so one of their initial important jobs will be to purchase some new books for all our children to share.
They have also got plans for sharing a recommended read from a pupil and from a member of staff each week. These will be recorded on a new reading for pleasure display board which is currently being developed in the entrance.
