Pumpkin Carving Competition

04 Oct 2021

NYES Catering are excited to announce their annual Pumpkin Carving Competition! We want to inspire primary and secondary pupils to get creative in their kitchens with this Autumnal inspired event.

We want pupils to (safely!) carve or decorate a pumpkin at home – they can be scary or cute – you are the decider in this challenge!

We’ve even enlisted the help of The Whole Hogg Farm Shop & Tearoom – a local, family business that celebrates local and seasonal produce; including home grown pumpkins to pick– to help choose the winning masterpiece along with 2 of our in-house judges. The Whole Hogg team/family are really looking forward to seeing all of your brilliant designs, and the fun you have with your pumpkins!
There is an exciting first place prize to be won – an Amazon Fire 7 Tablet with 7” Display and 16GB data! Plus a runners up prize of a fun Colouring Book.

We will also share a couple of tasty recipes to use up your unused pumpkin to reduce your food waste from carving your magnificent pumpkins!
How to enter
  • Simply email a photo of your carved pumpkin to: charlotte.firth@northyorks.gov.uk
  • Please include the pupil’s name, age, and details of the school they attend (plus a name for your pumpkin if you like!).
  • Deadline: 17:00 on Wednesday 3rd November 2021
The winner and runners-up will be announced on Monday 15th November 2020 and the winning pumpkin (plus the runners-up) will be published on our website and social media.

Please ensure you are being safe whilst carving, and have a responsible adult with you.
Maximum age to enter is 16.
The best of luck to all – READY, STEADY, PUMPKIN!
