Fountains 10K Run

Dear parents and Federation supporters,
The Fountains 10k race usually takes place in May, raising around £10k for both Fountains and Grewelthorpe schools. It is a great community event which is looked forward to by many running clubs and athletes each year, with an impressive turn out of 300 to 500 runners annually. A
For the past 2 years I have taken on the role of race director, however due to a change in personal circumstances and increased work commitments I have had to make the difficult decision to step down from this role this year.
If anyone is interested in stepping into the role of race director for the race this year, then I would be very happy to support them in this and provide guidance and support throughout the process. In terms of the time commitment required, last year I think we managed to organise the entire event in a period of 8-10 weeks which involved around 2-8 hours of work a week (initially 2, building to 8 hours for a 1-2 weeks before the race). Whilst this is a notable time commitment, the value of this to our schools is immense, whilst also providing a wonderful event that can benefit our wider community in many ways as well.
