Class 2 - Week 2
Mrs Field - 12 Sep 2024
Class 2 have been working hard again this week, all the children have settled in well and have worked really hard during a full week of lessons. We have started our English topic of traditional tales, focusing on Little Red Riding Hood. The phonics group have started to recap the sounds they learnt at the end of last year and the guided reading group have started working through the book - The day the crayons quit. We also have been doing lots of practical maths work to solidify our understanding of single- and two-digit numbers.
This will be our first week of sending out homework. There will be spellings for all children to practice, the phonics group will have spelling based on what they have recapped this week and others will have all spellings based on one spelling pattern. We will have a quiz each Friday to see what we have remembered from the previous week’s spellings. Miss Williamson has sent out 2 questions that link to the history topic if everyone could have a go at them at home that would be fantastic. Because of the history, there will be no maths homework this week. Maths homework books will still be sent home with each child's Numbots login stuck in and a handy parents help sheet. Therefore, there is the option to see if you can log in from home to practice some of the number work, we have learnt at school as a chioce extra.
Thanks for all your hard work,
Mrs Field
