Another busy week in Class 2.
In our topic work the children have been learning about castles and answering the question 'What is a castle?'. We learnt the names of the main features of a medieval castle, including defensive parts like the drawbridge, arrow slits, battlements and the portcullis.
We then looked at the beginnings of castles in England, with the arrival of the Normans in 1066 and their motte and bailey style castles.
In RE, the children have been learning about the Creation story, including Adam and Eve. To make sure we understood the story really well, the children sequenced the events from the Bible and told each other about how Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden after eating the forbidden fruit.
