Pirates and Explorers

We started reading the story 'The Pirates Next Door'. Some of the characters were very funny and it was unusual because it is written in rhyme.
History
We are all looking forward to learning about our two significant explorers - Sir Francis Drake and Neil Armstong. We looked at images of paintings of Sir Francis Drake (they didn't have cameras then!) and the clothes and hair styles looked very different.
Maths
Year 2s finished their unit on money by solving two step problems. (They can get quite confusing!)
Year 1s have been finishing their unit on subtraction by finding the difference.
