Morning work
Practice writing the capital letters H, I, J, K, N, P, Q, R, Y. You can use your whiteboard pens on the laminated letter formation sheet. Where do capial letters start?
Challenge:
1) Write the capital letters in your home school book. Can you remember how to form them correctly?
2) Think of a name beginning with each of the capital letters and write that name. Remember you don't join capital letters.
English
Let's practice another joined up caterpillar letter.

Can I correctly form the joined up letter 'a'.
Y1 - Practice the letter 'a' on the second page of your handwriting booklet that says 'Caterpillar letters'. Look carefully because there are 2 lines for the letter 'a'. If there is space on the line you can have a go at writing the letter 'a' without the dots.
Y2 - Practice the joining the letter 'a' to other letters on the page in your handwriting booklet called 'Joining to th'. Do the first 4 lines on the page - 'th', 'a', 'that' and 'than'.

Can I talk about some features of different types of text?
Was that text a story (fiction), an information book (non-fiction) or a poem? We are going to talk about this in our Teams meeting. What type of text is the book that you are reading at home?
What are the features of these different types of texts? What would you expect a story/information/poetry book to look like and sound like? Can you find any books in your house that are story books (fiction), information books (non-fiction) or poetry books. What do they look like? Can you guess from the front cover or any pages in the book what the text is going to be?
You could sort some books into different piles. Are there any surprises?
Post anything that you want to share on the general channel in Teams.

Have a practice with your ten frames.
1) Put a brick in each square on a ten frame.
2) Roll a dice and put that number of bricks in the other ten frame.
3) Find out how many bricks you have altogether. Remember you don't need to count them all you can count on from the ten.
Challenge: Say how many bricks there are then check by counting on from 10.
There is a quiz for you to complete on Teams so click on the Assignment tab to find it.
