Our Teams chat this morning is at 10 o'clock.

Morning work

Facts at your fingertips!
Find the booklet called 'Weekly Written Arithmetic Questions' Turn to Week 5. Use your watch or a timer to see how quickly you can complete all the questions. Stop after 5 minutes.

Y2 - You can miss out question 19.

Mark your own work using your purple pen. The answers are in the Home Learning tab.

English

Click on the video below to find out how to correctly form some more capital letters.

Now complete those capital letters on the Rainbow Capital Letters page in your Handwritng booklet.

Today you are going to start writing your stories. We will finish them off tomorrow.

Look at your planning pictures from yesterday. Tell your story to someone else in your family or a toy or even a pet! Remember to make it sound like a story.

Can I write the beginning of a story from my planning?
Write the story for your first 1 or 2 pictures - the beginning and you may have time for the problem.

Choose your challenge:
1) Write one sentence for each picture. (That means 2 sentences today.)
2) Write more than one sentence for each picture.
3) Use a story start and introduce the characters.
4) Think about how you can make your story interesting for the reader e.g story language that you have read in books or interesting vocabulary.

If you choose options 2), 3) or 4) then you may only have time to write sentences for your first picture 'the beginning'. That is fine. We will finish our stories tomorrow.

Take a photo of what you have written today and send it to me on your private channel in Teams (or email).

Maths
Today we are going to start our lesson altogether. Watch the video below.

Find the booklet that says 'Multiplication' in your home school pack and complete the first 2 pages. They have the numbers 37 and 38 at the bottom.

Mark your own work using your purple pen. The answers are in the Home Learning tab.

Y2 Maths
Now watch this video to have a practice.

Can I identify groups and say how many objects are in each group?
Find the booklet in your pack that says 'Making equal groups'. Complete the first 2 pages; they have the numbers 134 and 135 at the bottom.

Challenge: Have a go at the last page of the booklet as well.

Send me a photo of today's work in your private channel on Teams so that I can make sure that everyone understands what we are doing.

Phonics/Spelling

Year 1
Watch the video to find out about another letter that sometimes makes a different sound.

Choose the game 'Cheeky Chimps', click on 'Start' then choose 'g'.

Read the word on the banana. If the letter 'g' is making it's usual sound /g/ like in gap then drag the banana to the monkey standing on the word 'got'. If the letter 'g' is making the new sound like in magic then drag the banana to the monkey standing on the word 'gent'.

Practice this weeks spellings. Remember to 'Look at the word. Say it out loud. Cover it up. Write it. Check that what you have written is the same as the original.
