Autumn

15 Nov 2020

Signs of Autumn

Can you use all your senses to spot signs of Autumn?

Here are some of our ideas:
  • The leaves turn different colours and fall off the trees.
  • The nights get longer and the days get shorter.
  • The weather changes. We have more rain and it is colder.
  • Animals gather nuts and berries to store for the winter.
We were surprised at the incredible detail we could find on the leaves when we spent some time looking very carefully.

Maths

We had fun showing the problems using lots of different representations.

Rationing

During WW2 many of the ships bringing food to Britain were attacked.

The governm
ent introduced rationing as a way to make sure that everyone had their fair share of available food and other scarce items.

We have been finding out what items were rationed, how much each person could buy and what the ration books looked like.
