  Good morning Home School!

Morning work
Use your purple pens to mark your work from yesterday. The answers are in the homework section of the website.

Get your journals and copy and complete as many questions as you can. Think about quick ways to work out the answers. You might need to use a different method for each question. Is there a number bond that you know that could help? Would splitting the numbers into tens and ones help?

Black  - questions for everyone

Blue - Y2

English

Today we are going to be practicing the last caterpillar letter. Watch the video below to find out which letter it is.

Y1 practice the letter 's' on the second page of your Handwriting Extra booklet.

Y2 Then find the page headed 'Top join to short letters 2' in Handwriting 6 and complete the first 3 lines - 'on, s, son'. Remember about the top join from 'o'.

When you go to bed at night you expect ot be snug, warm and cosy. Beds in the past were very different from those that we know today. Some people in cold countries shared their houses with their farm animals. It might have been a bit smelly but a good way to keep warm.
How many different types of beds can you think of? What is your bed like? I found all these pictures of different types of beds.

Y1 Read 'Zip-wire' in your Comprehension booklets and answer the questions.

Y2 Read 'Keeping warm in bed' in your Comprehension booklets and answer the questions.

The children in the book have more been saving notes and coins. Can you help them to work out how much money they each have? Draw or write your workings and answers in your Journal. Try your best and we will go through it together in a minute.

Now have a go at using notes and coins to make:

Let's go through the problems together and see if we did it in different ways.

Can you find and move to the pulse. Click on ‘Move to the Pulse’ and try and copy the characters as they change movements to the pulse.  If you change the ‘Pulse per move’ you can make it harder and easier. Can the rest of your family do it? Are you any better than last week?

Topic

Sit quietly somewhere outside or looking out of a window. What can you see? How many different animals can you see. What plants can you see? What is happening to the plants? How are they changing? Look back at the photos in your photo diary. What has changed?

Can you see lots of different types of birds flying in and out of the trees?

How can you attract more animals and bugs into your garden?

What about making a bug hotel.

Do you have any other ideas to share?

Other Things
What else are you doing at Home School? If you see a good idea then have a go too.

When I read this poem I wanted to join in with lots of actions. It was great fun.

Super capital letters on all your proper nouns.

That's funny I have been thinking about beds and finding lots of different photos for English!

A favourite place to read all snuggled up with a favourite book.
