Class 2 Bolton Castle Trip: 3 June
20 May 2024
PLEASE GIVE CONSENT VIA PARENT PAY OR YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO ON THIS TRIP.
THE TRIP IS ON MONDAY (THE FIRST DAY BACK)
Dear Parents/Carers,
On Monday 3 rd June, we would like to take Class 2 to Bolton Castle, near Leyburn. This visit will
support our learning in history over this half-term, the focus of which was the question ‘Why was
Bolton Castle built and what does it tell us about life in the past?’
We will be travelling by Atkinson’s coaches, leaving school at 9.00 am and returning to school for
3:30pm.
Please can you send your child to school with a backpack, which they can use to carry their lunch,
water bottle and a snack. Children who have school dinners will be provided with a packed lunch.
If your child has school dinners but you would rather provide your own packed lunch, please
inform the school office by this Wednesday lunchtime, so we know numbers of packed lunches
needed from the school kitchen.
The children should wear school uniform and be dressed appropriately for the weather.
The cost of the trip includes transport, entrance to the castle and a specialist guide centred on the
KS1 curriculum. FROGS have very generously offered to subsidise the trip, so we are asking
parents/carers for a contribution of £10 per child please, to cover the remaining costs. This can be
sent via ParentPay, where you will also be able to give consent for your child taking part on the day.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Mr Scott and Mrs Field
