Dear parents/carers,
It is getting close to the time of year when we need to open the Fountains 10k race to entries once again.
Last year was a roaring success, which raised over £10,000 to share between both schools! This is a huge sum of money which makes a real difference to the enriching experiences we can provide for our children! Thank you SO MUCH to all of the volunteers and sponsors who made this incredible achievement possible!
In order to run the event we need a minimum of 40 volunteers on the day to do a variety of roles including race marshalling, packing and giving out goody bags, helping with the fun run, serving refreshments in the village hall, manning the water stop, and giving out race packs at race registration.
Before we can commit to the race this spring, we need to know that we have enough volunteers who are able to book the date in their diaries now to ensure that it is reserved for the race well in advance!
The date for the race this spring is Sunday 14th May 2023, with the fun run starting at 10am, and the main race at 11am. Set up usually starts from 8am onwards, with tidying up usually completed by 1-2pm.
The wonderful volunteers who support the event give their time freely (which can be from 1-5 hours), and in return can expect a fun day working collaboratively with their local community for a really worthwhile cause!

If you can commit to helping on race day, then please email me at: hannahtagney@hotmail.com to let me know before the 30th November. Once I have worked out how many volunteers we have for race day I will then be able to make a decision regarding whether we hold the race this year or not.
Unfortunately, unless we have enough volunteers the race won’t be able to go ahead.
