Frog's Newsletter
21 Nov 2021
Dear FROGS fans!
Please find a copy of the minutes from our last meeting attached. I have summarised the main highlights for you in our newsletter (also attached) and in the email below! We have lots of fun festive ideas to help raised some vital funds for our school. Let us know if you would like to get involved in any of these upcoming events!
Peter Rabbit & Friends Christmas Adventure Trail
FROGS will be running a Peter Rabbit & Friends themed Christmas Adventure trail around Druid’s Temple, on Swinton Estate, from 18th -31st December.
Come along to help Peter & Benjamin to solve the clues and crack the code to help save Christmas! A festive treat for every paying child! £5 per ticket
We are looking for volunteers to help put up posters, share the event on social media, and advertise it far and wide!
We also need volunteers to approach local businesses who may be able to donate some festive chocolates of prizes for the children to earn as their reward.
A list of places to put up posters and businesses to approach for donations will be put up in the shelter on the school playground.
Please let us know if you can approach anyone for us (and put your name on the sheet so they don’t get asked twice!
“Elfridges” Christmas shop!
Each class will be making their own Eco-conscious, low carbon festive gifts, which they will then sell in their very own Christmas gift shop at school!
The shop will be open at lunchtime on selected days for the children to purchase secret gifts (no peeking grown ups!).
Adults will have the opportunity to purchase gifts after school on selected days in December also. Dates TBC.
There will be a selection of wonderful gifts, including hand-made soaps and other low-carbon and sustainable gifts for you to choose from. Come along and have yourself a carbon neutral Christmas!
Christmas Hamper Raffle!
The school will be selling raffle tickets for our Christmas hamper prize draw, which will include a selection of hampers packed with delicacies and treats! Previous years offerings have included a luxury “Pamper Hamper”, a delicious “Festive Hamper” full of festive goodies, and an incredible Farmison butcher’s hamper full of incredible ethically sourced meat from responsible and sustainable local farms.
We will be asking parents for donations of items for each of the hampers, and tickets will be sent home to purchase in the children’s bags.
Easyfundraising – “feel good shopping”!
Please remember to sign up to Easyfundraising.org.uk and select Friends of Grewelthorpe School as your chosen charity to support!
If you access all of your usual online shops via the website or App then you will generate a donation for the school every time you spend money with your usual retailers!
