Walk to School Day
Walk to School Day’ is part of Zero Carbon Harrogate’s ‘Car Free Fridays’ campaign which aims to encourage better transport habits.
37 primary schools and four secondary schools will walk, cycle and use public transport to get to school on Friday (8th October).
Organised by Zero Carbon Harrogate, the event aims to raise awareness for and help to tackle climate change.
On this day, primary and secondary schools across the district are asked to ditch their cars and walk or cycle to school. Those that live far away use public transport/car for part of the journey, then ‘park and stride’ the last mile. It all adds up!
Zero Carbon Harrogate will be logging the miles walked (or cycled), and carbon saved by schools across our district - so please help put our school at the top of the leader board
If you are unable to do any of the above, make a pledge to walk somewhere that you would normally drive to.
