Covid Update
16 Jul 2021
As you are all aware, the government has announced that from the 19th of July schools can decide to remove certain COVID measures that are currently in place.
However, given the increasing COVID rates across North Yorkshire districts, and taking into account the number of COVID incidents in education, the Local Authority are asking all schools to keep their safety measures in place until the end of term. They recommend that bubbles are continued and face coverings advised for staff and visitors in communal areas where social distancing cannot be maintained. They are also asking schools to continue internal contact tracing for the last week of term, which will support the current gap until 16th August when self-isolation guidance for under-18s changes. We are hoping that if we keep our safety measures in place then we will get to the end of the term without having to close a bubble and avoid having to ask families to self isolate at the beginning of the summer break.
Thank you for all of your continued support.
