Fountains 10K

30 Jun 2021

Dear Parents/carers,

The big race day is nearly upon us!

The Fountains 10k & Fun run is all set for Sunday 18th July!

Frantic final preparations are certainly going on behind the scenes, but the end is now in sight!

The Fountains 10k race is an incredible event that generates in excess of £10k in funds for the schools (Fountains and Grewelthorpe). After 18 months with very few fundraising opportunities, this is our one chance to try to raise some vital funds for our schools.

We just need a final push to make sure we have enough pairs of hands to help out on race day, so I have included a list below of the positions we still have available. If you are able to help out for a few hours on Sunday morning, or have any willing friends or family members we can persuade to help us out, then please let me know by emailing:

hello@fountains10k.co.uk

Expressions of interest to the email address above by Friday 9th July – although the sooner the better in terms of helping me to sleep at night!!

Unfilled Marshal roles

Marshals stay at a set point along the course for the duration of the race, and help to direct runners around the course, monitor traffic, and be a prominent visual reminder to traffic that there is a race happening (high viz best provided).

Clapping and general encouragement directed at the runners is also part of the job description!

A camping chair is advisable, plus any cow bells, tambourines, or cheerleading pompoms you might have lying about!
