Good morning, 

I hope you're all doing ok. We're missing those who are not in and can't wait to have you back. We know some of you are out of isolation come Friday so please bring in your Halloween stories and be prepared for a chill... We're going to tell our stories to one another but with some hot chocolate and marshmallows to help bring us round afterwards. 

In English I'd like you to keep going with this story please - remember, your first attempt shouldn't be your last - there will be all sorts of alterations which can be made: the addition of helpful relative clauses, reshuffling sentences to begin with verbs and nouns, better figurative language etc. 

Maths - tomorrow we're having a one-off maths lesson as we're studying maps in geography. We're going to be looking at writing 6-figure-grid references. Those help to locate somewhere on an OS map to within a few metres - very handy if you're stuck and need some assistance. It does require a bit of estimation. Watch this link below

Then as the geography lesson, we'll be continuing to develop our understanding of OS symbols. Download this sheet and use the internet, if needed, to find out what the symbols mean.

Then see if you can find these symbols on the OS map (see link below) record where you have found these symbols.

You'll have to look carefully as this is such a vast map the numbers aren't always at the edge. You should see blue numbers going along and then some going up; you'll need those as your reference guide.
