Good Morning!

We are sorry that you can't join us today but here are the lessons we are covering in class today.

LO To identify common factors

To begin with, try watching this BBC Bitesize video to remind you of what a factor is:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z6j2tfr/articles/z72r97h

What is a common factor?

factor is a number that divides into another number exactly. To find the common factors of two numbers, you first need to list all the factors of each one and then compare them.

If a factor appears in both lists then it is a common factor.

For example, the factors of 8 are:

1, 24 and 8

The factors of 12 are:

1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12

Therefore, the common factors of 8 and 12 are:

1, 2, and 4

If you click on the link below you will find a powerpoint with activities for you to work through. I have also attached some worksheets which you can print off and complete or you can just follow the worksheets but record your answers in your home learning book which you used during lockdown. There are stars in the corner of the worksheets; one star is easier than 3 stars so you can decide how confident you feel about the questions. You may also have a go at some of the Challenge problems.

We're researching why animals are becoming endangered. Here are the websites we will be looking at:

https://www.worldwildlife.org/threats

https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/kids-club/cool-kids/general-kids-club/save-earth-with-greenpeace/

Choose one endangered animal and create a powerpoint or factfile about them.
