Colour Run

We had some colourful fun after school using the 2 deepest (and most likely to leave a more enduring mark) colours that we will be using for the colour run!
Elijah and Alfred got reasonably well covered through my own efforts, but managed to brush pretty much all of the powder off without leaving much trace.
This was the “after shots” once they had managed to brush all the colour off:

Rain
The forecast is suggesting that it might rain on Wednesday afternoon, which will make the powder less easy to brush off! The advice is to bring a spare set of clothes for your children to get changed into before they get in the car, and an old towel and wet wipes to wipe the worst of it off, plus another towel that they can sit on. A bin bag to put all their colour clothes in would be useful too!
Hair
If your child has light coloured hair, you may want to put some leave-in conditioner in it to help any colour wash off straight away. The colour came straight out when I washed my kids’ (brown) hair, but I’ve seen recommendations online to either wear a bandana or a hat, or put some conditioner in light coloured hair if you really don’t want to have any colourful residue left behind for a couple of days. Or, just embrace the temporary colour change!
It all came off very easily with some soap in the bath, and even the green-tinged scalp returned to a normal hue after a hair wash!
The bath had a few blue or green marks in places, but they came off easily in one wipe with some “Astonish oven and cookware cleaning paste” (my natural/eco multipurpose surface spray wasn’t enough!).
So…..In summary: the powder brushes off clothes and skin/hair easily, but leaves a colourful mark on skin (which won’t come off in the car though as long as you’ve brushed the loose stuff off!), and a soak in the bath gets the rest of it off! And the bath also survived unscathed!
And the kids LOVED it!
I can’t wait! Bring on Wednesday!!!!
