About Our School
26 Sep 2018
Grewelthorpe CE Primary School is a friendly, exciting and stimulating place to learn. We want our children to become creative, independent and confident, able to forge their own future and change the world for the better.
The school is situated about 6 miles north of Ripon and 3 miles south of Masham.
There has been a school in Grewelthorpe since 1842, today learning takes place in a spacious and modern school building, opened in 2003. The beautiful grounds include a wild-life area, sensory garden and vegetable garden.
We are very proud of our distinctiveness as a church school. St James is our parish church and all major Christian festivals are celebrated there. We have strong links with the Diocese and work in partnership with the wider church school family.
We are committed to preparing our children for living in a global community. Our passion for celebrating diversity and the richness of other cultures can be seen in all aspects of the school’s work and we have close links to a culturally diverse school in Leeds called Rosebank and support the CURE hospital in Malawi.
We work closely with our local community and are always looking for innovative ways of extending the range of opportunities we can offer our children.
